BBC Sport UNSUNG HERO 2020 NOMINATE MATT RATANA!
Our rugby friends at East Grinstead RFC have put out a plea to get Matt Ratana voted as the BBC Sport “Unsung Hero” 2020.
East Grinstead Rugby Football Club were utterly devastated to hear the tragic news that on Friday 25th September 2020, Matt, a Police Sergeant and their Head Coach was tragically killed in the line of duty.
“Matt was an inspiring and much-loved figure at the club and there are truly no words to describe how we are feeling” quoted Bob Marsh, Chairman & Andy Poole, President.
In Matt’s honour, the club are trying to raise money for some initiatives that were close to Matt’s heart, aimed at developing rugby at the club.
