May 2020 saw a very special Birthday for one of our ladies, Libby Hutchby who joined the ladies back in 2018 was due to celebrate her birthday while under lockdown conditions. So her planned activities were put on hold. But Craig, Libbys husband had other ideas.
Craig had seen an advertisement saying that Vicky Fleetwood, a flanker with the England RFU Ladies team, The Red Roses was offering Zoom PT Sessions. So he purchased a session as a birthday surprise.
Libby was excited to receive this gift and invited her fellow Belper RUFC ladies to join in. They loved every minute of it and asked if it was possible to do more session. This ended up being around 15 weeks of “lockdown” training with 12-15 ladies at each session.
The ladies built up a great connection with Vicky during this period and when lockdown restrictions ended and the sessions were no longer required the Ladies decided to send Vicky some flowers as a thankyou.
Libby then arranged for a pink Belper RUFC Ladies Hoody with the initials VF printed on to it and sent to Vicky as a final Thankyou as a reminder of the sessions with the Belper RUFC Ladies.
Libby stated that she was “Buzzing that she is wearing it” after receiving notification of an Instagram post that Vicky had uploaded stating “Chilling in my new hoody thanks to @belperladiesrugby, you guys are too kind, overwhelmed to be called an honorary member!”
