O2 Touch Tournament (Internal) - Strutt's Playing Field
35 Senior Men's players took part in a thoroughly enjoyable and competitive O2 Touch Tournament today. With a special mention going to one particular player who made a 70 mile trip from Leeds just to take part!
The tournament was structured into five teams of seven players, with each team playing each other once in a round-robin format, and two finals between first and second place, and third and fourth place, respectively. The "Blitz n' Giggles" team took the title in emphatic fashion, beating "The Human Santapede" in the final 5-2. They were deserved winners, putting on a show with some creative attacking rugby and disciplined defense. The losing team were left feeling frustrated following a few controversial refereeing decisions in the final few minutes.
The tournament was a great opportunity for a large group of senior players to practice their skills and enjoy some competitive rugby leading up to the Christmas break. Next up is senior training on Tuesday and then an internal XV-a-side full-contact game on Tuesday 29th December.
